Gianna Capobianco is a freelance flutist and educator based in the Greater Chicagoland Area. She is the Flute Instructor and Flute Ensemble Director at Aurora University and the Flute Instructor at Elgin Community College and maintains a thriving private studio. Gianna has a wide range of performing experiences and plays in her flute and harp duo, Duo Dahlia, as well as several other ensembles including DuPage Symphony Orchestra, Fox Valley Symphony, Wheaton Municipal Band and DeKalb Municipal Band. She recently served as Program Chair for the Chicago Flute Club, oversaw the 2025 CFC Flute Festival, and has written several articles for the CFC’s journal, Pipeline. Gianna received a Master of Music in Flute Performance and a Performer’s Certificate from Northern Illinois University under Scott Metlicka where she was a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Woodwinds. Additionally, she has received a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from Elmhurst University under Jennie Oh Brown.
