Gianna Capobianco is a freelance flutist and teacher based in the Greater Chicagoland Area. She has a wide range of performing experiences and plays with several local ensembles including DuPage Symphony Orchestra, Fox Valley Symphony, Wheaton Municipal Band and DeKalb Municipal Band as well as her flute and harp duo, Duo Dahlia. Gianna is the Flute Instructor and Flute Ensemble Director at Aurora University and the Flute Instructor at Elgin Community College and maintains a thriving private studio. She recently served as Program Chair for the Chicago Flute Club, oversaw the 2025 CFC Flute Festival, and has written several articles for the CFC’s journal, Pipeline. Gianna received a Master of Music in Flute Performance and a Performer’s Certificate from Northern Illinois University under Scott Metlicka and a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from Elmhurst University under Jennie Oh Brown.
